Book Rent a Car Islamabad to Hunza with Baloch Rent A Car, serving Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi since 2010 with verified drivers and well-kept vehicles.
Islamabad to Hunza by car
Islamabad to Hunza is about 600 km and 12–14 hours of driving via KKH / Babusar Pass. Mountain roads need an experienced driver and the right vehicle, so we send drivers who know the northern routes and recommend an SUV, a 4×4 or a Hiace for groups.
Suggested day-by-day plan
- Day 1: To Chilas via the Babusar Pass in summer, or to Besham via the Karakoram Highway.
- Day 2: Chilas to Hunza (Karimabad), with the Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi viewpoints on the way.
- Day 3: Baltit and Altit forts and sunset at Eagle's Nest.
- Day 4: Attabad Lake, Passu Cones and the Hussaini suspension bridge; Khunjerab Pass when the border road is open.
- Day 5–6: Return journey with a night stop at Chilas or Besham.
Every plan can be shortened, extended or changed – tell us your dates, hotel bookings and must-see places and we will build the trip around you.

Best time to visit

- Cash, as ATMs and card machines are limited in remote valleys
- Basic medicines, sunscreen and sunglasses
- A power bank – electricity can be patchy in hotels

How the tour is charged
Tours are charged per day: the vehicle's daily rate with driver, plus fuel, tolls and the driver's night allowance. Local jeeps for places like Lake Saif-ul-Malook or Mahodand are paid separately.
